Australia Beat England in 1st T20I by 28 Runs at Southampton and Lead 1 – 0 in 3 T20I Match Series

Today is the second T20 match of the ongoing T20 match series between England and Australia. The first T20 match was played in Southampton and Australia defeated England by 28 runs in the 1st T20 match.

In the 1st T20 match, England won the toss and decided to bowl first and this decision proved wrong for England. Matthew Short and Travis Head came to open for Australia and both of them made 86 runs in 5.6 overs and Travis Head made 52 runs in 19 balls. Travis Head took 30 runs in 5th overs of Sam Curran. Travis Head hit 4 fours and 3 sixes in that over.

Travis Head made 59 runs in just 23 balls and then went to hit a six off Saqib Mahmood’s ball and was caught out. Australia’s 1st wicket fell at 86 runs in 6 overs. Then Mitchell Marsh came and was out after scoring just 2 runs, after that Josh Inglis came and played an innings of 37 runs, due to the Australia’s score reached 179 runs. Australia got all out at 179 runs after a good start.

England needed 180 runs to win. England’s captain Phil Salt and Will Jacks, who came to open the innings, both could not do much. England’s first wicket fell at 13 runs Will Jack got out after scoring 6 runs. After that Phil Salt also could not do much and got out after scoring 20 runs. None of the England batsmen performed well due to which England’s innings got all out at 151 runs.

Australia won the match by 28 runs and in the match star Perform bowler Sean Abbott took 3 wickets and Adam Zampa took 2 wickets and along with them Hazlewood also took 2 wickets and Travis Head became the player of the match who made an amazing 59 runs in just 23 balls.

Phil Salt said After the match : They played well. They got a start. We dragged it back towards the end. When the ball starts flying like that, we could have done better. Maybe some clarity in the next game. Teams get good starts but you try and drag them back. They did bowl well. We could have taken partnerships deeper later.
