England becomes the first team to win a test match by an innings after conceding more than 500 runs in the first innings.
1st Test in Multan in which Pakistan had prepared a flat pitch and after winning the toss Pakistan team decided to bat first. In reply Pakistan performed well. Their opener Abdullah Shafiq scored 102 runs and their captain Shan Masood played a brilliant knock of 151 runs. After that Saud Shakeel also played a good innings of 82 runs and Agha Salman also scored a century and scored 104 runs. Pakistan was all out at 556-10 (149.0).
England scored 823-7 (150.0) runs in their innings. England opener Zak Crowley was out after scoring 78 runs, then Joe Root came in, then Ben Duckett and Joe Root together made a partnership of 136 runs, after that Duckett was out after scoring 84 runs and Harry Brook came to bat, then Joe Root was set and choked, both together made a world test record partnership of 454 runs, in which Joe Root played a brilliant knock of 262 runs and Harry Brook played a fabulous knock of 317 runs.
England batted for 4 days and in the evening they got a trail of 823-7d innings declared and 243 runs and Pakistan had to complete this trail but they were not successful and in the evening of 4th day itself 3 wickets of Pakistan fell.
In 5 days, the whole Pakistan team was all out for 220-10. Somehow Agha Salman scored 63 runs and Aamer Jamal scored 55 runs and together they made a partnership of 109 runs but in the end Pakistan was all out and this historical test match was won by England by 47 runs at the end of the innings.
Pakistan can never forget this test match. The way England won this test match and the brilliant batting performance given by their players is praiseworthy. When the England players were completely tired of fielding in such heat for the first two days, even then the England players bowled well and batted brilliantly due to which England won this historic test match against Pakistan and that too by going to Pakistan’s home.
